So I am wanting to put my Scout on coils and run a 1 link rear and three link front + panhard bar.
The 1 link should be easy but the three link front has me lost sometimes.
I have been playing with the 3 link calculator and have a rough idea where I want to put the mounts.
The first thing I can't seem to nail down is link ends. I am trying to stay on as tight of a budget as I can while not going too weak. Since the rig is trail only and only goes out about 8-10 times a year I was planning to run heims all around. Maybe 1.25 lowers and 7/8 uppers .... or 1.25 all around  ...its a pretty heavy rig. No power house, but 345 V8.
Not having used heims before I am somewhat confused by the "high misalignment spacers" . I understand that they allow more movement but don't they also require a smaller through bolt? Wouldn't that decrease strength?
And should I run / buy spacers for all 6 joints?

use all 1.25 heims. they will be strong but if you do break one youll only have to carry 1 size of spares. are you doing a triangulated 3 link? if you are you dont need a panhard bar.

can you do a triangulated 3 link? and if you could youd have to go full hydro

Not triangulated, panhard. As I won't have hydro steering.

check larboc's build he's using a prototype 4 link kit from D&C http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=598612
X2 on the same 1.25 Heims all around, only 1 spare and they are stronger.
Yes the misalignment spacer use a smaller bolt, but if you don't use them the joint will be severly limited in its range of motion, and would be like running a bushing.

Yeah, I'm keeping up with the scoutzall project.
So I am looking at (6) 1.25" QA1 heims , each with HMS. Unless someone can reccomend more beef for less money.

Or maybe (6) Porc HD Flex Joints

For about the same money. Which would be better?

Wow, not getting much help here. Just want to update and say the QA1s are actually about 2x the money when you add HMS and jam nuts. So its looking like the flex joints if they are gonna hold up.

mine has 3/4 heims for the tierod, trackbar and draglink. used similar joints for the trailing arms.
they all work great. it was a DD that way for 3 years and still got the shit beat out of it. never broke one, but did tweak the tierod.
getting rid of that setup now and going full hydro and 1 tons.

Good info.
I guess I could go 3/4 heims for the panhards.
Does anyone know if a bushing such as from an XJ control arm would work well for the panhards?
the only bushing my ford eats is the panhard rod, so I would put good ends on the panhard
