milwaukee v28 batteries and chargers

Wheres the best/cheapest place to buy them. Today I scored a brand new v28 drill, but its missing the case, charger, and 1 battery. But on the very good side it only set me back $50. So wheres the best place to find these things?

Being on dial-up I'm not gonna confirm, but generally toolbarn.com is very competitive on V28 stuff.

I'd find the Milwaukee part #, then punch "Milwaukee xx-xxx" into Google and search your results.

This might be another option, but they seem more competitve on corded tools:

thanks for the links, looks like I should be able to put the set back together for well under $200. I'm probably just going to grab a charger for now because I just bought a brand new hilti a few months ago that works quite well, in addition to my others. You can never have enough drills.

Recently got an email from toolup.com. Apparently Milwaukee is running their buy-one-get-one rebate again Jan thru March. Many retailers will try to claim this as "their" deal but of course it's a factory rebate, so buy where you like.

The email also mentions a $79.99 battery and free shipping, but they make it sound like an either/or (rebate or discounted battery). I'm not clear on what that's all about. The discounted battery thing might just be exclusive to toolup 'cause you can choose a free battery thru the rebate program w Milwaukee (seems like less of a deal than a free tool tho)

If you can swing it the rebate is the way to go. You have to buy a kit to start with, so that'll include a tool, a charger, and one or two batteries. Then you get a free tool thru mail, leaving you w three tools, one charger and most likely two batteries. The bandsaw and maybe the hammer drill come with only one battery in their kit.

Anyone else's batts. not holding a charge over ~2 weeks? I know all my other lithium batteries hold way longer. These work great but when I go to grab them it's sad they are dead.

Im rather surprised to hear that your batteries ever held a charge that long. I have 3 V28 batts and none of them held a good charge more than a few days from the get go. 2 weeks and they are dead as a doornail. I have a 10.8v Bosch LI impact, those batteries don't hold a charge worth a dam either. I just thought it is just the nature of those batteries. LI batteries totally suck in the cold below 45 degrees also.

Are you leaving them on the tool? My experience has been they'll hold a charge for weeks if not months if I leave them on my drill. But if I leave them on my sawzall they're dead in a few days. My conclusion was that the sawzall somehow, someway, drains them.

I haven't left them on other tools to confirm this (I also have the impact, portaband & circular saw). And I havent' tracked it closely enough to know that my findings are reliable. Maybe I just always have the same battery on the drill??

D60 - On my sawz-all they die sooner, on the shelf ~1-2 weeks... noticeably worse performance.

If it's not just me then I guess it's normal!

I'm in the process of mounting my charger to make that easier but atleast they charge fast.
