Guys.. a friend of mine got a pair of axles from an old International truck. Front is a D44 with drum brakes and rear seems to be a D60. Both axles are 6 lugs.

Are these a good set for 38's? What are the weak points on each axle Vs. an 8 lug D60 / Disk Brakes D44?

Are these worth to do the swap or should he get a diferent axle set?

The short answer is that they are junk for any application other than an old IH pickup. Little no aftermarket support. Obsolete brakes, obsolete and odd-ball bolt pattern.

Keep looking for a set of post 70's Chevy's, or Ford (depends) or Dodge (also depends).

Yeah swap them in and spend lots of money on HUGE tires. They are specially built to withstand more torque than any other axle ever made. They are specialty and worth lots of money on EBAY.:flipoff2:

If you have a big enough boat Ill bet either one of them would make a fine anchor
