I don't see any room in the 14 carrier for a mini splool... don't think they make one... But I have been wrong before:D

I am starting to build a 14 bolt, and if I want a spool, I will weld it, but as for spool vs. Detroit, on a trail only rig, which is better? Does the spool push too much in the tight stuff? What are the advantages of the spool over the detroit? And Visa Versa.

spool is a bit cheaper and has no moving parts to wear.
you will get the same push in tight stuff unless you unload the detroit.

At that price I would look at a Detroit. The 14 Bolt Detroits are ~$350. A Detroit will function better with cutting brakes than a spool, if you are planning that mod. And if not just weld it up.

I dont think that they actually have them, a friend of mine is making them for drivetrain direct and they finally ordered them so he is just starting to make them. So there could be a delivery problem. Call Dave at Poly Performance, he will also be selling them, and might be able to give you a better price. He should have them in a month or so.

Why do you say that...causes it uses the stock carrier??? So does the detroit...the real diiference between the mini spool and the detroit is the lack of moving parts in the spool:D:D:D oh and the price:flipoff2:

More or less why spend money on a mini spool when yes it is only as strong as the carrier. So is a weld witch costs so much less and if done right can be just as strong. A detroit i wouldent even run that on the street. thats my .02. Driving with a spool is about the same you just dont get the witch way do i want to go well driving down the highway act. Your choice. As said befor run a detroit if you want a cutting break.
