Following a blurry photo and a quick write up (http://members.aol.com/toy4x4s/hole.htm) I installed a reverse switch into the cover of my SM420 today. Quick, easy. Photos are here if anyone would like to do this: http://www.jeepshots.com/shots/projects/sm420/ - photos p1000493 thru p1000513.jpg

Only 'gotcha' I can think of is the indent on the reverse shifter rail. If you drill the hole too far backward the switch won't reach the rail. P1000511.jpg is a blurry photo showing the indent.

I just bought a '67 SM420. It already has the reverse light switch :)
