Hey...

Wanted to share "real" pictures of the bumper Jay and I designed for his truck (i'm posting for him as I'm more addicted to online surfing than he is...)...

The design is fairly simple and I have emailed the "Paint sketch" to several members...

Jay positioned the truck graciously for better angles of the bumper :D

Tucked in pretty nice (http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDPfRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6 xqpxQQGoxQnlxJQGxv8uOc5xQQQGoGQeQQnQGqpfVtB%3F*KUp 7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQoG%7CRup6Gna%7C/of=50,590,441)

Bumper offers good clearance (http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDPfRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6 xqpxQQGoxQnlxJQGxv8uOc5xQQQGoGQlnePoaqpfVtB%3F*KUp 7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQ0P%7CRup6Gna%7C/of=50,590,441)

Ties in several areas to the frame (needs frame cutting and welding new "winch cradle"/"mount") (http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDPfRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6 xqpxQQGoxQnlxJQGxv8uOc5xQQQGoGQeQQaPQqpfVtB%3F*KUp 7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQo0%7CRup6Gna%7C/of=50,590,441)

Great clearance - "if it doesn't hang low, it won't get banged as often" philosophy (http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDPfRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6 xqpxQQGoxQnlxJQGxv8uOc5xQQQGoGQlnnaPnqpfVtB%3F*KUp 7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQoG%7CRup6Gna%7C/of=50,590,441)

That's it...

Thanks for Jay for volunteering his rig as a test for this bumper that turned out light, strong, tight, and cheap (compared to the 1000$ ones I see floating around here...)

Cheers,

Nadim

Bumper looks good. Tell your buddy to drink after he drives. He'll be less likely to drive sideways into the only ditch for 10 miles. :flipoff2:

Did you put it together with some kind of glue? :flipoff2:

Lotus Esprit inspired (nuts & bolts are too heavy!)

The last pic reminds me of Lois Lane's red Ford Fairlane getting sucked into the ground during the earthquake in 'Superman'. :flipoff2:

What I like about the last photo is that the photographer is minimizing how dramatic the angle of the truck is by rotating the camera clockwise. It is exactly opposite of all the photos I see of people trying to make their rig look more extreme than it really is by rotating camera.
