Well fella's I finally did it I sold the daily driver and am now driving 100% Toyota vehicles. My wife has the Camery so I am driving my FJ-40 until I get the FJ-62 built up. Let's hear it for fuel injection and running open air lockers on the street. (I just hate killing the Swampers though!) I keep choking on the almost 1K (and 1-2 months out) for the Marks adapter for the 1990 split case from AA. Any other options? With the sale of the daily driver the war budget is healthy but I am going to try to slip in the purchase of a JD4 bender (2K with dies).
Does anyone know if a centered Dana 44 will fit un-cut under the wagon? If so off what? This way I could just use the GM TC off the 4L60E.
Thanks for any help!

Sure, you can shop D44's or Ford 9" (better idea) until you find one that will fit under your FJ-62 with minimal work.
You are looking for 59" WMS to WMS. It is OK to go narrower in the rear.
I still maintain that you can run a centered output transfer case with an offset rear in a wagon.
Compound angles are just that, compound. They can be made to work just as easily as a single angle.
I am 4" offset to the side with only an 18" driveline.....

I have or can have the bellhousing adapter (I think it is just like the marks) available for sale if you are interested. I have it currently in my cruiser mating a 350 to a 4speed. Send me an email if it is an option for you it would take me a acouple of days to pull it.

Arndog,
Thank you for the offer, however the adapter I need is for a FJ-62 Split case to a 4L60E (GM auto).

If you can put pen to paper on the compound angle, the rule of thumb is that if you don't have more than 30* total angle up, down or sideways you should be good.

I would agree with you on the Ford 9". It is nice haveing a drop out 3rd member. (and they are tough!)
Hmm. Is the offset you have on your wheeler or daily driver? Do you run a Dub. Carden Joint on the rear shaft? Since this thing will see regular HW speeds... but might be worth a try and swap it out if it proves a problem. It would shure cut expences to leave it as is!
BTW what is WMS? Thanks!

Ya I had thought about a rear end from a Tundra or Sequia but I have no idea what the part's trolls would want for one. Not a bad idea for a V6 pick up..

Wheel Mounting Surface to Wheel Mounting Surface.
This is generally where an axle is measured for width.

I dont know them, I went to school in near Sacramento.
I have only been out of school 10 years:eek: . My wife says she knows a "Gonzo" here, she grew up around here. I have lived in Ione about 8 years.
And yes being this close to the Rubicon is great!
