i dont know if that is the same one but it says it fits all models that have an I-6 4.0 and this one says years 88-00.

yeah im gonna call today, but it was late last night and thought id ask here first to see if anyone had this starter and if it fit the 87. thanks tho.

so i called the www.jeep4x4center.com one and they said it wouldnt fit an 87 cherokee 4.0 liter, anyone know what the difference between an 87 4.0 liter I-6 and an 88 one? or does anyone have an idea why it might fit the 88's and not 87's? im still going to call quadratec later and see what they have to say.

87-90 is the same renix based engine so there should be no reason why it wouldnt fit an 87. I would be positive that it would bolt up, and theres only 2wires that bolt in place.

i know thats what im saying, i didnt have time to call quadratec, im calling them tomorrow, if they dont have a good explanation as to why it wont work i think i might just buy it and test it out, ill keep you guys posted.
