Has anyone ever replaced the TBI injectors on a 2.8 GM V-6? My daily driver needs to get me through the end of the year and with 174 k on the motor one of the injectors is starting to sputter.:nuke:
Yes, the TBI is very clean and I have run a fuel treatment through it. Yes, the fuel lines have been replaced. No, I haven't replaced the fuel pump, but can see how of the two injectors, one sputters now and again. It is especially noticiable when my RPM's are cruising at less than 2500 RPM.
Thanks for all of the help!;)

what is your question? They are very easy to replace if that is what your asking , I would start by taking the 2.8 out and swappin some nutz into it!!! J/J

I am just looking at difficulty. Do I just unplug them and replace them...that is it? I haven't done anything like this before.
Thanks!

You have to take the top off of the fuel rail, (lots of little torx bit screws), then pull the injector out, (somewhat of a pain). The o-rings kinda hold things up a little bit, but it will come out. THen slip the new one back in and put it all back together again.:)

Thanks for the information. It turns out to be the TPS, not the injectors. The computer was sending false information to the injectors and calibrating the air/fuel mixture wrong. This is a real pain to replace since I need to remove the TBI, flip it, then drill out the welds. Hopefully this will fix my problem.

the TPS is two screws on the side of the TB, and one weather pack connector. The TPS goes into the butterflies like a straight blade screwdriver and socket.

I think the TPS on the 2.8l is adjustable, unlike all the other TBI GMs
