I got code 63 on my check engine light. Anybody got a manual handy to tell me what the hell it is?

Jackass in drivers seat I think:flipoff2:

Heres what I found

63* Unsuccessful attempt to write to an EEPROM location by the PCM.

* - Check engine lamp will not illuminate at all times if this code was recorded. Cycle ignition key as described and observe code flashed by check engine lamp.

how deep was the water?
deeper than the 60 pin connector on the computer?
unbolt the end and check for moisture. clean it, reslather it with di-electric grease.
whatever it it, it's 99% probablly an internal ECU problem and not an extrenal sensor. worst case scenario, you'll have to replace the computer.

FAWK!!!!!!!!! I am already on my second computer. and it is possible, the water lapped at my fenders.....took on about 3-4 inches in the tub. Fawkin River.......last time I follow Fullsize into a "stream"

I think the obvious problem here is that your rig is too fawkin small:flipoff2:

you forgot the Rockwells and 15 chrome shocks.

seriously, if it is the computer, go apeshit with the di-electric on that conenctor and get into the back of the plug where the wires go in. the ECU, itself is factory dipped in some sort of rubber coating, but the connector has been a sore spot.

Before you replace it, you might want to attack it with a heat gun/hair dryer and leave it open (as open as you can get it anyhow) for a day or two and see if drying it out helps...

keith try blowin it out w/ wd40, it will drive any water out. (if it is a moisture problem)
