: What should I do with my XJ now?

After this weekend I managed to cave in the rockers.
I also put some huge dents in the fake frame rails that it has.
My pumpers are now scrap metal and my front fenders are mangled thanks to my front tires.

My plan now is to subframe the thing a little bit.
(HMMM Perfect platform for future longarms)

I also think I need to cut out the rockers and weld in some fat rectangle tubing.

Then I think I will make some sort of bumper and then run 1.5" tubing from the bumper to the new rockers.

I liked Rocksluts tube fenders I'm gonna try to make it work on my XJ :D

What should I use for the Subframe?

You shouldn't, you should get the CJ running:flipoff2:

For the subframe, 2" 1/4 wall. Then weld it to the fake frames, maybe along side, with plating somehow? It's going to take a weekend and  to figure out.

I figure I can do the subframe one weekend and then the rockers in another.

And yes I want to really really get going on the CJ

I believe I will start the excavation process this week to uncover the CJ from all the layers of parts sitting in the garage.

Cut open the frame rails and stuff them with either tubing or C channel then weld them back up.

Steve let me get my yard and garage cleaned up and then we can go get that Waggy.

How long you think it would take to yank all the good parts off it and dump the rest?

I would work on my CJ but it is burried in my garage at the moment.

I plan on digging it up this weekend if I Sara and I get done painting the inside of the house.

3/16" thick 3" angle iron works great for reinforcing the subframe.
I have mine plated from the rear spring hanger to the front bumber. I used 3x4" between the LCA and front bumper because I need more metal to weld the coil over shock hoops to.
