cj8scrambld 11-01-2001, 07:43 AM Hmm, I sure could use a High Angle driveshaft setup soon . How does one get a chance to win? It says to register, but I am already registered. Does it also work when you "log in"? Those High Angle shafts look sweet! John
cj8scrambld 11-01-2001, 07:54 AM Hmm, I had read the post on the Nov. winner (congrats to ya) and it sounds like this is only open to "new" members? How about a random drawing where if you log in or post a topic or reply to a topic you have a chanve to win? Sounds good to me, that would make people more apt to post or reply. John

you know that I would tell you where to register to win the High Angle Driveline but that would lower my chances of winning

I can just picture a whole page of threads titled: "Newbie here, just wanted to say high and win a free driveshaft!"

Nothin' to do with new members (which I'm not, grumble grumble ). Just the luck of the draw... The luck landed on me this time
cj8scrambld 11-01-2001, 10:29 AM pcorssmit, I am not talking about just new members. I meant any memeber who posts or replies may randomly be the chosen one. That may be how it works anyway, it just was not that clear. It is a great idea for POR to do this and it is great advertisement for High Angle (not that they need it...their products speak for them). The entries could be just to weed out those "just want to say Hi" but, that would take alot of time on POR end. Oh, hell I guess it works just fine the way it is, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
So, you're suggesting an entry into a drawing for every post/reply someone has???
Talk about encouraging crap on the board.
And DRM would have about 8 shafts before anybody else had 1.
pcorssmit 11-01-2001, 11:27 AM I meant what Mo said.

I can't see this happening.. unless the chit-chat posts are excluded.
Oh, and please delete this post. It doesn't belong here.
pcorssmit 11-01-2001, 01:38 PM Let me try this one more time. I feel that if the chances of winning a free driveshaft were increased by the number of posts (ie you are entered again every time you post), regardless of whether chit-chat is included or not, it would increase the amount of non-informational posts (padding, or whatever you want to call it). I was agreeing with your statement "Talk about encouraging crap on the board."
I don't think your chances of winning should be depend on the number of posts you make. However I don't have any problem with a requirement that you be active on the board, perhaps that you have 1 post within the last month.

JeepinIan 11-01-2001, 02:30 PM If you read what Lance said when I won the mid-Oct drawing, the reason I won was because the other number that was generated is a person who is not active right now.
Quit your bitchin', and wait to see who gets the next one.
FYI, I ain't that new.
cj8scrambld 11-01-2001, 03:03 PM OK OK OK, I was not bitchin' I was just wanting to understand how this all works. I guess your right, every post/reply would generate alot of chances. Although it could be like every 1000 (or whatever) post/reply could be a winner. Kinda like a slot machine (we know they are programmed to pay out on a certain # of pulls) for every Xnumber of pulls generates a winner. And, your right this post does not belong here. Sorry for the uproar! Geez! LOL
