Buddy of mine has a 77 wagoneer with a blownup amc360 its already lifted and set up the way he wants it. He has a good running chev 350 he wants to put in it, I know wagoneers have a turbo 400 in them but they are amc bell housed. What is the cheapest proper way to swap it? Is there a chev trans that will work on his case, thus saving drive line cost?
Thanks,
Robert
You should be able to combine a Chevy turbo 400 with the output parts from your Jeep trans and be good to go.

The AMC pattern TH400 is worth a bit of cash to Waggy guys too.

you don't remember correctly...
Intialy there was an adapter between the Chevy Th400 and the AMC pattern on the V8's, then AMC/Jeep/Chrysler (whichever) had them skip the adapter and make just the AMC pattern cases, which are getting kind hard to find replacements for.
