I was wondering if anyone has found a textured paint that will match the red Harbor Freight 42" tool chests. I've tried krylon textured "bright red" but it was way too orange.
I have a couple cabinets that need paint and I thought it might look nice to have them match the tool chest.

I think the paint is called #5 "Made in China Lead based Red"
Instead of rattle can - I'd just buy a qt or gallon of whaterver color you like and repaint both the cabinets & the HF chest.
I had good luck repainting an old Kennedy rolling chest with Rustoleum Hammered Black & foam roller.
I have the same HF unit and will likely repaint it when I get some free time.

I actually really like the color and the finish. The paint seems pretty durable, even though it is hard to clean.

I was planning something similar. See if you can get a drawer off, and head to an auto paint supply for them to match it. You can pick up a Harbor Freight paint gun, and paint all your stuff to match.

Is it wrinkle finish or hammertone?
If it's wrinkle finish you're looking for, you might be able to get a close match by matching the red color to a regular enamel spraypaint and then applying it over a fresh lacquer basecoat.
Spraying enamel over lacquer is one way to get a wrinkle finish. The different drying rates of the paints will make the wrinkles. The basecoat can be any color as long as it's lacquer.

It's actually neither. It's just a rough textured finish. Similar to Rustoeum's "textured" spray paint.
I have a couple cabinets in the garage now that need paint. I might take Roy's rustbucket's suggestion and take it to a paint supply to get it matched. The only problem is that I don't know of many automotive paint places that deal in textured paint finishes.
