The Z-bar linkage keeps coming off the pivot ball that is on the block when the truck gets flexed at all. Do they make longer pivot balls? Anybody else have this problem? I am thinking about converting to a hydraulic clutch any suggestions on this route?

Hydralic all the way, get a bellhousing from an '84 & up Blazer or bore the index on a late '80's early '90's 4.3L T-5 or V8 car bell. Use a master and slave from one of those too, plus the right fork and all that jazz. I used to be able to open the driver's door on my '77 3/4 ton by pushing in the clutch, plus I could change the fuses by pushing the carpet aside and jumping down to the ground, inside the truck (it was on 38's and I'm 5'8")
are you on ck5 as well?
there is great info on the hydro swap there.
even a few that have photo documented the clutch master install on the earlier cabs.
if your cab is 85+ it is a no brainer to hydro it and very near the same for the earlier ones though you actually have to locate the correct spot to drill.
the 85+ cab has divots to mark the drilling locations I discovered when I converted mine.
I have a fairly complete parts listing from GM in my webshots album (http://community.webshots.com/album/13180252EPlFnPcEPJ)
hydro is the only way to fly,
reduced pedal effort and no more Z bar not reaching when twisted

mj, yeah I posted this on CK5 also. The firewall here at work won't let me look at one of your webshots pages, must be the one with swap stuff on it. I have decided to do the hydraulic swap, but I need as much info as I can get. like:What years to get parts from. Where to cut the hole in the fire wall.
To help with the advice, I have a 78' p/up 383, d60, 14b, 5.13s, detroit f&r, 44" boggers.
Any pointers or advice is greatly appreciated, because I need to do this swap SOON.
