: Wheeling in Las Vegas
yodamankp 01-11-2008, 07:51 PM Is there any good wheelin in the las vegas area? I'm going to be heading out that way on a job for the next year and I don't know anything about the area. If there's anything good around there I would like to take my rig with me. Any info would be appreciated. Also where exactly is moon rocks?
JEEPGAL 01-15-2008, 12:38 PM Lots of good wheeling here, what are ya into? Rock crawlin? Then check out Total Karnage http://totalkarnage.net. Easier stuff? Go to Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers. http://vegasvalley4wheelers.org

Try NVTTORA. There always needing an excuse for a run. What kind of runs are you looking for?? How built is your rig? Moonrocks...?? There are some easy day runs, or there are some hard runs. The harder stuff is Total Karnage area..just my 2 cts..
2slo4u 01-15-2008, 08:45 PM The TK members page gives you an idea how we wheel. Pretty much a sheetmetal be damned approach. I look forward to seeing those pitbulls in action.

NVTTORA went to shit as far as "hard" runs go when Jeff left..They mainly concentrate on moderate to stock now-a-days... I have'nt ran with the TK group but once at H&B....But they seem like the folks to get to know if you want to run the more difficult trails. I'll be back there soon, and hope to hook up with some of the TK folks as they are good people (from what I've seen )and like the more hardcore stuff :smokin:.
yodamankp 01-16-2008, 06:22 PM I like the rocks more than anything. My rig is built fairly well, 60's front and rear, 5.38 gears lincoln locked for now, 39.5 rockers, rear springs up front, 1 link rear with aerostar coils, toy 3.0 with stock toy auto for now, it's getting replaced with a jeep aw4 and a 4.1 d300 soon and your basic protection, cage sliders ect. If I get the chance, I want to bring it with me. It would be cool to get to wheel some new areas out of state. The stuff around here is getting kinda old. Anyway, thanks for the replies. Keep em coming.
Edit, Isn't moonrocks in Nevada?
2slo4u 01-16-2008, 07:14 PM yea but I think its like 8 hours from Vegas. We got stuff within an hour that'll keep you occupied for a bit. If you need more, we got a place we call area 52 about 90 miles from here. When that bores you, we got Havasu or the Hammers under 4 hours away. 7 hours puts you in Moab.
To many places, to little time.

The Hammers has my vote for ya! As well as Moab...:)
yodamankp 01-17-2008, 09:44 AM Hell yea, ive wanted to go to the hammers for some time now. I didn't realize it was that close.:smokin:
2slo4u 01-17-2008, 11:34 AM Our club has folks heading there for the Tinbenders event in April. Last year was a riot. A few of us are also helping with the KOH.
Vegas is pretty well situated for wheeling.
BadgersDen 01-18-2008, 08:18 PM Used to be stationed there back in 01-03. I used to go riding out at what the locals from N LV called the Apex. About 2 or three miles north of Nellis AFB. About a mile or two past the Speedway you will start seening some trails heading off to the hills on the right. Always had a good time out there. There are also always people out there if you get stuck/broke down or whatever.
renojeepster 01-28-2008, 09:40 PM Moonrocks are about 15miles North of Reno.
greg74eb 04-30-2008, 09:02 AM Logandale is 1 hour to the trailhead from the center of town and will challenge the most capable of buggies if you know where to go. Short trails but lots of extreme challenges. Easy stuff too. Cedar City is 2.5 hours north and is awesome, if you know where to go. St George is 2 hours north and has alot of great stuff, if you know where to go. Hammers are 4 hours to the lake bed and speaks for itself. Iv'e lived here for 17 years and now wheel a 2 seater tube buggy on 39's. All my wheelin buddies moved to socal and NM. Always looking for people to go with.

ive heard about a trail called "Jack's trail" suposed to be close to vegas and really wild for 1 day run:D
slowagon 12-28-2009, 06:53 PM I've been searching for info on "Jack's trail" but can't find anything. Could someone please let me in on it? What does this trail consist of and where is it?
DESracing 12-29-2009, 11:12 AM Anyone know where the Area 52 trails are at from vegas?
Warthog 12-30-2009, 11:20 PM Jacks Trail is no longer available!! this trail is closed and is off limits!!
I would ask that you please visit a Vegas club......you don't need to join but just get the right information regarding the trails within and out of the vegas valley.
MOST of the trails within the vegas valley are illegal and are off limits ........ and a bulletin board discription to the legal ones is just too vague.
Area 52 ....... is legal, is public, and is well north of vegas ........ however, the area is large and unmarked.
again i would ask that you visit with either Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers or Total Karnage. both clubs make regular trips and will be glad to take you along.
