Test fitted a 47 incher! :D
If I bump up the air pressure, they'll fit. I think.:shaking:

Actually I am getting Longfield CVs and shafts. I "Thought" about running a 47" tire. After goofing around, no way in hell. Too much tire.

I did get some GREAT news today. A certain off-road Tire manufacturer is coming out with a new 42" and 44" tire. :smokin: I have been waiting on that news for a long time. I am going for the 42s. Finally something other than a damn Irok or Swamper.

Did some fleet maintenance on all but the Scout– changed oil, changed filters, etc. Cleaned off my trailer.
Did do plumb in a tranny temp sender on the tow rig – still don’t have the gauge hooked up.
Moved the Scout in and out of the garage a few times – starts fine and really handles the 0.2% grade of my driveway… Man I suck…

I completely stripped down a front D44 with 2.72 gears. I'm rebuilding it from the gears up to go in my DD. Had to cut down a twisted D44 rear shaft and put in my press to act a punch to drive out the upper ball joints from the steering arms. Then I'm going to be doing the same with a rear axle.

Also had to fix an electrical issue with the furnace.

Nothing IH related (shit still still 3 hours away from me). Did help the wife getting the house cleaned. Watched football, drank my usual amount of beer. I did deep fry my best chicken (I think at least) ever Saturday though.

Sat: buried a friend and co worker. We've known each other for like 20 years. So that was a bummer, but did get meet up with a lot of people I had not seen in years.
Sun: Took the kids to the snow. Only to find out one of my daughter snow shoes don't fit anymore, but she waits until were get there to let me know:shaking: So it was short but fun trip.

Dialed in my rear driveline so I can weld it up, also reworking the rear spring packs. I had a cut down overload leaf in there to help with axle wrap, but I bottoming out the rear all the time, so I put in another set of overloads. I will try them out, but suspect I might need to add another leaf to get a bit more lift. would not hurt as the rear is a bit lower than the front. Or fix the shock issue. Currently I'm running 13" shocks in the rear and need most of it for droop. To put in longer shocks I would need to cut the tub, and rework the sheet metal. maybe next year:flipoff2:

Got the trashed BW out of the Tera and prepped the T-18 to go in this Friday. It felt good to work on a vehicle again for a day.

Sunday I spent with the wife.

Yesterday drove up to Folsom & picked up two Forklift tanks for my Propane conversion....

I now have all the stuff to do the swap (except a few little things... rebuild kit, maybe a fitting or two). So far I'm into it for $275. ($100 for JY reg, carb, hoses, $150 for two tanks, $25 for mounting bracket).

I was stuck inside with a fever. Didn't even see the light of day till Sunday afternoon. Fever finally broke Monday morning . . . Just in time for work

Now I'm way behind on customer stuff and all that other crap I use my weekends for. Oh well. At least I got to watch a crap ton of 'Lost'. That show is damn addicting.

This year just keeps getting better..... start it out with bronchitis. Just as I get over that, I have emergency surgery for an appendicitis. Then last night I come home to find that some asshole stole all my scrap aluminum, all my scrap brass, all of my scrap cast iron (except one rotor  ), some of my structural steel, 2 sets of SII rear springs and my set of 63" Chevy springs.:mad3::mad3:

I guess, I'm lucky the fuckers didn't walk off with my 14b housing too!! For some reason, they left it and the two separate leaves for the 63" packs to make the 3 leaf packs into 4 leaf packs. I don't understand their selective thievery, but I'm glad they didn't take my wide 14b I spent so much time locating.

Did I mention that thieves fucking suck???

At least they didnt break into your house and take your entire filing cabinate full of personal info, financial info, and business info.:shaking: I'm still getting catalogs from Macy's, Sears, and credit card offers from all the places they tried to open credit. If I were you, I would be thankful thats all that got stolen.

How stop a thief.

A neighbor moved in years ago, and immediately put up a chain link fence all the way around his house and had two German shepherds running in the yard. I thought, damm what are you so paranoid about. Only later to find out he was a correctional officer. He has long since moved away, but now I'm thinking that's not a bad way to go, fence all the way around the place and a dog or two. Currently everyone has access to my front yard. With my refund check I'm going to put up a nice wrought iron fence and automatic gate. I've already got the dog.

I don't keep anything of value out front.

We have a 70lb+ black lab/pit mix.
She goes ape shit (barks/jumps at door, window, fence) when the mailman stops by (or anyone else for that matter).

Hey Mechanos,
Check you local "metal recycler" scrap yards. Here in TX they have to check picture ID to pay for scrap. You might get lucky if you various scraps were odd enough for the guy to remember who brought it in.

Thieves suck!

Waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too many yards that see probably 100 people per day. Besides, there was nothing odd or "stand out" about the stuff they took. One of my neighbors called me a little while ago and said they saw the guy take the stuff on tuesday. Described him as a black man with a yellow vest driving a white truck. I suppose that helps.... narrows it down to probably 53% of the population of KC.:shaking: He said, "I just thought it was somebody you knew."

That just goes to prove the old theory that if you act like you belong somewhere, nobody will question you or think that you don't belong there.

Hasn't gotten that bad around here (knock on wood).

Up in the North end of Texas and Southern OK they write your drivers license number and vehicle tag number on the reciept.

Its amazing at the type of people who you see in the yards now days. Example, 4 adults (30 ish) that look like they havent showered in days pull in in a late 80's olds, the two men get out, grab a Wally World sack from floorboard and set it on the scales. Wally sack has 4 pounds of burnt copper wire inside. While the reciept is being written one of the guys smile and the lack of teeth tell the whole story.

After they left I ask the guy running the yard how many of these types come in a during a typical day and he replies "its just unreal anymore". He says he has heard that they are stripping all the uneeded romex and copper plumbing out of the rent house they are living in and selling it for drug money. He took me in the back and showed me the loose copper pile. It was just a pile of what looked like Wally bags and paper grocery sacks.

What happened to the guys that used to hustle scrap all week so they would have beer money for the weekend??

Its a sad world we live in these days!!

I HATE THEIVES ALSO. MY father and I have probly had 5k+worth of tools stolen in the last 10 years.:mad3::mad3::mad3::mad3::mad3::mad3:

Mechanos. I'd watch and see who comes around to check meters, utilities and such. I bet this bum has been in or near your yard before. He wasnt just driving around and seen your pile and backed in and started loading.

Did I say I hate theives!!

...He wasnt just driving around and seen your pile and backed in and started loading.

I'd be willing to bet that is exactly what happened. Our local trash collection system has what they refer to as "bulky item pick up" every other month. The program is intended to facilitate getting rid of large items, furnitture, old applicances, etc... that the normal trash pick up won't take. Every other month, "Sanford & Son" types drive around and look at the piles set out by the curb. If they see some metal, they will dig through the pile, take the metal and move on to the next pile.

In the 14 years that I've lived there, they have always been very curtious. If they spread the pile out looking for stuff, they stack it back up when they leave. They never venture onto private property... just look at the stuff from the street.

This fucking low-life just decided that he would rather have the stuff up next to my house and in my driveway and just boldly walked up there and took it.
