mog axles in a fj62 cruiser

i have a chance to get a set of mog axles for a pretty good price. i was thinking about putting them under my fj62. but the off set of the mog axles has me worried. i was just throwing it up here to see if anyone else had any ideas. or should i just use the dana 60/70 that i have by the shed. the big plus on the mog axles is no need to regear and they have lockers f&r. so i would save some bucks in the long run. i posted this in the lc section also. they are 404 mid 60s. the land cruiser is off set passenger side f&r. thanks mike

If it were me there would be no question.....MOG.

I would just change the t-case to one that matches up (driver front, center rear)

The Ground clearance alone makes it worth wile in y mind.

ok then how about i put a ford divorced 205 t case behind my stock lc case a roll with it.

Thats what I'm planning on using, the beauty is that I got the Ford T-18 with mounted 205 for 50$ since "Nobody wants that ford stuff anyways":smokin:

FJ62 has passenger offset for both diff's, right? If memory serves (and it doesn't always), the engine is offset a bit to the driver's side too, to work with the diff offset.

The rear is fine. We could swap the tubes on the front, but you'll also need one new axle shaft in the front at minimum. You'll have to deal with long pinions too, can't remember what the wheelbase is on the '62, or what you plan on doing to it.

Going to a Ford NP205 will also work, but you may have to move your drivetrain a bit to the passenger side to make things work.

decided to use the rockwells, a whole lot easier, the diffs are in the right location, i have a bunch of them. and i have lockers allready. but i will send you a e mail again after the holiday ryeguy. i did pick up the mog axles, but will use them on another project. so i still need the flange converision. thanks, mike

I use the Ford 205 TC mixed with Chevy 205 parts behind a Chevy 4L80E Transmission in my GMC pick up with Unimog axles.
