I really like that 14-bolt truss and may use it on some projects. I was wondering if I am seeing correctly, but are the bends cut in the middle and have to be welded back up for strength? If that is the case what is the reasoning behind that?

Reason is because we do not have a power brake big enough to bend the metal right now, the slits make it easier to form. We plan on having a 100 ton power brake by the fall.

Ah ha, that makes sense. I didn't know if they bends had to be opened up or adjusted for each application, or something like that.
