Will any disc's, drums and brake parts interchange with scout 44's? If so what vehicles will work? Trying to save some money. Dont want to have to pay $120 per rotor. Also what are some good placed to get parts? Thanks

HEE HEE HEE

you can also convert to Chevy brakes, Ford brakes, Dodge.... whatever. Pretty much any D44 outer with the right combo of parts.

For the drums you can use Jeep stuff, but the center hole needs to be opened up a bit on a lathe, or chuck up the axle LOL.

Edit.. Partsamerica.com

Dang Rockauto is much cheaper, but you have shipping to add.

Hell I don't know what I needed half the time. Good thing ScoutParts.com is there to save us.

The rotors from a 1977 Jeep CJ7 should bolt right on. They're thinner, but otherwise are same. They're about $20. (Info from BB.)

'Course, I'm running '79 Ford rotors with Chevy calipers, but that's another story.

Any truth to the rumor if you run your pads past 10% on CJ rotors you can pop the piston out of the IH caliper?

i was asking because i wanted to know if you guys already knew of something that would interchange so i didnt have to pull parts measure and start from ground zero. also i have to actually work while im there so time is kind of scarce (busy location). And if your counter guys dont know what you need you go to a poor excuse for a parts store or they have poor sales associates no matter what the name on the building says.

OR

You get what you pay for with a $8/hour employee. Once in a blue moon you get a good one. THAT GUY you know his name, ask for him, and follow him to other stores if he goes.

Hadn't heard that, it would be a good thing to know before you tried the Jeep calipers, though. It wouldn't be too hard to test, though, find out how far apart the calipers would be with dead pads, and see if the calipers will go in that far.
