I'm doing a conversion in my Jeep using a forward facing ford G-box (donor is a Bronco or Truck, I can't remember)and I'm not sure which port is the high pressure side .....anyone know?...I'ts been a while since I pulled this box and like a dumb ass I didn't grab the lines....there is a 3/8" port and a 5/16" port....the 3/8" port is the one closest to the cab...I've already hooked the high side to the 3/8" port and ran the pump with a drill to test....it don't act right (steering whips and tries to go the opposite direction) so I'm guessing it's hooked up backward or am I missing somthing?.....I tend to think the pressure side would be the larger port.....?

So do you still have your pitman arm facing forward?
Which of these 2 boxes are you using?

Because the top box is used in 77-79 F150s and 78-79 Broncos. While the bottom one was used in dozens of different Ford trucks, SUVs, vans, and some Mazda pickups. I know Jeep boxes are similiar to the bottom one, but i just want to make sure.
Ill have to check tommorow, ive got the top box in my EB, and I believe the smaller port is my High pressure. But i have to double check.

the bigger port closer th the cab is the return.. the little one closer to the main body of the pump is the pressure port..

Just wanted to make sure thats why you were getting the reverse steering action was because you changed direction of your pitman arm.
