6" lift, with the raised steering arm on my 85 k5. I have a BAD case of bumpsteer going on. is this a common thing with the 6" lifts? i did a quick check of my steering components and everything seemed tight. i did a search to, didnt find any answers there.
twice the bumpsteer got soo bad i had to hit the brakes and slow to a near stop, i thought the front axle was gonna shoot out from under the dam truck.

did you check to make sure your u bolts were tite or check your steering stabilizer those could be a problem or you need to get a drop pitman arm just my 2 cents not a chevy guy but i have a k5 blazer in my driveway

Not to hi-jack, but I got a raised steering arm to sell, cheeep!
You want the drag link to be as parallel to the ground as possible.
Are you sure you're talking about bump steer? Or is it Death Wobble?

Steering stabilizers are bandaids and will only mask steering problems.
You need to ensure all balljoints/kingpins, steering joints, spring bushings, and u bolts are all tight and not worn out.
The drag link as already mentioned needs to be as level as possible, running parrallel to the ground, and this is achieved by using or using a combination of drop pitman arms, drop draglinks or raised steering arms/blocks.
Or the best solution is to install crossover.

Welcome to Death Wobble...
Jack up one side...
Sit down kinda under the wheel like you were gonna take it off etc...
See if you can move it back and forth (top and bottom in and out)
I've found that typically DW follows being abel to do this...
If you can... it's balljoint time...

most common DW is from worn balljoints/kingpins, on both knuckles and the draglink

damned good advice here ^^^
not just one, but all of it.
pay attention.
I installed a panhard setup to eliminate bumpsteer completely. All of my steering components are in great shap - that is the first thing to check, but the panhard makes a big difference - thread here (http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=635725).
