Anyone successfully relocated the rad to the bed of their Zuk?? Will the stock water pump handle the additional load??

i'm considering this... are there any negative effects of having the fan blowing on the gas tank? i know it won't get hot enough to start a fire. it's the only place i'd be able to fit it so it's what's holding me back right now.

First i would ask why are you doing this?
That might help with some different ideas.....
I moved my rad. back about 3-4 " and will be putting a slim line elec. fan on the outside. Plenty of room for a winch up there now.
Have you considered putting it on top the engine? Id guess a small body lift would make enough room for the tiny rad..

I've just got mine finished. Just need to plumb a gauge to make sure everything is staying cool.
I'm running a Toy powerplant and the factory pump seams to be doing okay, but I can't speak to the stock zuk pump. Horizontal runs don't seam to tax the pump as much as vertical runs, so plan your plumbing routes carefully.
I have my rad sitting at a 45* angle with the air sucking in from the tail gate and blowing just infront of the gas tank. The air is warm at best, and I can't forsee it causing any problems.

I am considering moving my rad because of mud, mud, mud...:p
Locating it on top of the engine will do little to help, as it gets really messy everywhere inside the engine compartment.

You might consider using a pump off a inboard/outboard boat. It is a small pump mounted on a bracket that runs off of a belt on the front of the motor. It is used to pull water from the lake and pump it to the water pump on the motor. It is small, rebuildable and probably pretty cheap. You may even find one in a boat junkyard on any boat that has a "car" type motor (V-6,V-8).
Mercruiser inboard outdrive moters all have one.
