: ARB compressor mounting

Where are we typically mounting the ARB compressor? (the small locker only compressor)
Mine is on the firewall. It is a little noisy there. But, it is way above the "water line", breathing clean air, and well protected from the elements.
I was considering under the passenger seat. Decided not to install under seat due to "water line".
My two complaints about firewall mounting are:
1) noise
2) 6-8ft wiring harness coiled under dash. (I know I may cut/splice later)

(water line sounds wrong, I mean the deepest water I would possibly cross)

Hobie's is under the driver seat. I don't go thru water so that location would be ok with me as far as water goes. It's not too noisey but you know when it's on or not. It made running the exhaust difficult and routing the air lines is a bit of a pita. I would probably put mine in the back since I don't use that area anyway or under my rear storage area behind the seats.

Did you rubber-mount it? If it's solid-mounted, then it's going to be noisier than a full-auto Thompson. :)

Yes it is rubber mounted. The only noise is the compressor operating.
The noise is not bad for a comp vehicle. I really dont think it would be more quiet under the seat or at the rear of the car near the pane tank.

here is where we mounted it. Up out of the way. Seems to work good so far, Rocks and mud don't get slung on it.

looks good.
That was my first choice. Decided against it because the firewall offered more protection from mother nature.
