I am a newbie to Scout IIs and was wondering if a Chevy D44 8lug front is the right width to swap under a Scout II? I have a D44 and 14 bolt from a 73 3/4 ton both with 4.10s.
Thanks
Rick

Sure, if you don't mind an axle thats 9" wider.

Search "GM AXLE" or simular in the IH forum. Or SOA and sit back and have DAYS of reading.

The width isnt a problem. No laws against it here.

Wider for sure! Not a big deal you can run stock H1 beadlock wheels to narrow it down a bit.
Hopefully the spring perches are the same on the front cause those a tougher to move due to the cast-in perch on the differential. Rears are easy to move. Good luck.

Front perches are the same width as Scout II...31" apart. However I have been told that it is better to change the driverside perch because the centering hole needs to be moved slightly. Search on binderbulletin.org
