Alright, so heres the deal. ive looked around, and ive found some really good info on alldata, s10 planet, and here... but im hoping to get a basic idea of what is required on this motor...

so what i have is a 94 CPI 4.3L, that almost ready to start up. I had it running in the 94 Blazer, but now its swapped into the other truck. im looking for an idea of what wires, and sensors are required to make it run and drive. The blazer was fully loaded, AC, power windows, power seats,... bla bla bla...

the truck its going into is stripped... no heater, no lights, no a/c... i just want the basics. any ideas? ive read around, heard of the guys chopping the TBI harnesses down to a couple wires... anyone done a CPI? its a 4l60e btw, but i am eventually going full manual valve body.

I'm just finishing this same swap into a Samurai. I bought a Painless wiring harness from Summit.

If you plan on keeping the 4L60E you will also need a VSS with a 40 tooth reluctor ring and a DRAC module.

Heres some info on the vss and DRAC.

Jims Performance is your man. He did my 4.3 cpi harness and I when I had issues with getting it running I called him. Excellent guy with good support after the sale.

Actually the p/o orignally had Jim "cut" the harness down. Two years later I bought the engine and harness. I later found out that the p/o cut and added wires out of the harness which wouldn't let it run for my application. I called Jim and he re-wired and labled the entire harness for free. Like I said, he's a really stand up guy. He uses factory wiring and connectors where he can, but I am almost sure he needs a complete uncut harness to start with. As for the intial cost I think it's around $150 - $200. His number is 410-465-9569, good luck.

well, the problem is my harness has been fawked with. it ran, but is obviously been played with. i was considering a painless harness, but 400 bucks sets the build back a little.
