Where do I find products to control fluid loss for comps. I read this is mandatory.
I'm thinking diffs, motor oil, radiator fluid????????

You can get small catch cans from summit. for the diffs Suzuki M/C shops sell these cool accordion type boots that will fit on the diff breathers you can also get recovery tanks for the radiator

Power steering is a big one. I'm running a stock resivour thats been modified bigger, the factroy lid leaks. But not sure how to seal the system up without losing the venting needed.

Whats everyone using for a resivour?

we run a stock reservoir and it will spit out a small amount of fluid, haywood vented his and ran the tube into a small catch can. this is the car that 80 proof has now

We are running the TG power steering pump and oversized can which has never leaked, all other points of leakage are stock. To be honest with you it has never been an issue at tech.

Cool.
I have the TG PS system also.
I will find an overflow for the radiator and run with it.
The suzuki parts are the breather on the quad diffs? I will check into that also.
I was thinking for comp purposes the diffs could be plugged. Then remove the plugs for normal trail riding.

Yeah the quad diffs are the ones, I always thought they were cool you may have to find a fitting to put them on that will fit the breather hole in the housing. For the radiator overflow tank fatkid made us a cool one out of a 8in. piece of an aluminum drive shaft he welded caps on both ends and drilled 2 holes about a 1/2 in. from the ends the bottom hole is for the overflow tube from the rad and the top is the vent, it works good. But like handlebar said we,ve never had an issue from the stock stuff

Not sure if you know it or not but do not run the factory breather tube from the valve cover to the intake. If you get on your lid it will let a lot of oil get into the intake making it smoke at least and hydro locking the motor at worst. I just have mine making a lap around the engine bay and ending up in an old oil bottle. When it gets full I just dump it back into the engine.:D

My propane kit removed this hose and replaced it with a breather/filter. (I think) Is that OK? Any suggestions?

If you just have a little filter stuck on the valve cover oil will flow out of that pretty easy when you're upside down. Run a tube from the valve cover to a catch can.

At tech we do not turn your vehicle over, so even if you bolted something to the firewal and said it is a catch can.....

But if your leading an event and spill because you go over and drive out of it, but get point or DQ because of said leak..... it's all on you:D

I wasnt trying to say that tech. wasnt what it should be, I agree that leaks are the responsibility of the team and we should shoulder the consequences. Didnt mean to offend. And thanks for not turning our ride upside down in a parking lot to check, you would mess up our paint...

Bumping this back up.

Anyone got any pics of how they mounted and ran some of the lines for the overflow fluids. Mainly the radiator and intake/valve cover lines.

I relocated the factory radiator surge tank and haven't had a problem with it. You can see it in this pic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/arizonaxj/F-Toy/F-toy_2.jpg
I found this one on summit that looks like it should do a good job. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=AFC%2D80158&N=700+326120+115&autoview=sku

As for the valve cover vent lines, I'm still having problems with them myself. On real vertical climbs I lay down a pretty good smoke screen.

Yeah i've got this one http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/500/555/555-51145.gif for the radiator and thought I had it upside down, but after doing some reading I guess I mounted it as a catch and not a return since I put the petcock on the bottom.

But I think im going to flip it over where the petcock will be on top, but im still unsure if it should be open to allow venting?

I used the srock overflow. The vent tube goes to the bottom and seems to hold back the fluid very well. I have already roll and flop tested it.
I saw a lot of guys running that container for diffs, crankase, and trans/trans case

I have the same one but my radiator seems to be building up to much pressure. It exploded Friday night at the Hammers

Giving this a little bump

Past couple runs every time I flop or drive with the rear case engaged the buggy has gear oil starts pouring out of the shifters(mainly the first case and tranny). I tried sealing them off with gray RTV but still leaks pretty bad. I'm using the stock shifter boots and they have definitly seen better days and one is tore. Am I missing something or is this just what happens when you dont have a body to see all the fluid coming out?

If you seal the base of the shifter and replace the boots it shouldn't "pour" but it still may seep a little if your upside down or flopped for some time.

I saw one of those this weekend--for like $8, it's a great way to go. I'll run one of those for my rad.

The Marlin Crawler twin stick is sealed and has a vent hole like a diff. I ran a tube down the drivers side of the T-Case and down to the bottom, mine never leak.

Just driving down the trails it seeps, but when I flop it it pours. Kinda sucked for my passenger

Guess I'll just pull them off and try to order some new boots and reseal them and see if it helps at all
