: 205 32 spline swap issue - rear output

So before i put my 205 transfer case on I swapped out the rear shaft to a 32 spline shaft, mainly to eliminate the slip yoke, and bolt on a HAD flange.
I called up HAD and ordered the stuff i needed.
The new shaft, big internal gear, the speedo housing, and the CV mount (HAD Specialty) showed up a few days ago.

So after swapping all my needle bearings over and putting it all back together with the new/used parts.... The HAD flange wont go on all the way...

On the end of the shaft, there is a little "C" ring that holds stuff in place... It slides over the shaft and clips into a valley on the shaft.

Problem is, when i put the HAD flange on, it hits the "C" clip.. and wont tighten up without hitting this "C" clip...
If i remove that clip.. it would tighten up against the bearing in the speedo housing..

Also i guess i need some sort of seal to seal around the flange/housing... right now it's open right to the bearing...

I'm gonna call Jesse on Tuesday and see what he says, but am curious if anyone else has run into this...

here's the flange

I have the exact same flange on my 205. I had plenty of room it.

SO it is hitting part number 3?

Do you mean the rear output shaft seal? Get it at your local parts store.

Yes, part 3.

The flange goes on far enough to get the bolt started, but if i tighten it down, it will tighten onto part 3 in that picture...

I figured there was a stock part...

Any idea what vehicle it was stock or a part number?

So it sounds like i'm not supposed to have that c-clip on there... that i'm supposed to tighten the flange/yoke up against that bearing...?

This was the seal i came up with

Solved -

So the "C" clip isnt used anymore...
When you swap in the short shaft, with a yoke or the HAD flange you throw out the c-clip, and tourque the flange or yoke up against the bearing in the speedo housing.

Problem solved.
Thanks Jesse - HAD

Part number for the seal is 473-468 national seal number 8 bucks at autozone
