The transfer case in my friends 1999 chevy cracked in half on the freeway and when I helped him replace it with one from the local pick and pull, and once put in it is stuck in low range, and the push button 4 wheel drive doesn't work. It doesn't even light up on the buttons. Any one have any ideas?

what T case did the truck come with ? Did you replace it with the same model. Is the truck a NBS Or an OBS with the 5.7. Also i would check the fuse pannel.

it is new body style, 5.3 1500 and i replaced it with the same t-case from the same year. But the fuse panel is a good start.

Did you read the owners manual? I think it has to be in neutral with your foot on the brake to come out of 4 lo, some bs like that, also we replace a lot of the dash switches in my shop, take the switch out of the dash, open it up, I bet it has some broken solder joints, every one I have replaced had broken solder joints, easy fix with a soldering gun.

A good scan tool should let you communicate with the t-case module. No communications means a bad connection (or that fuse) or more than likely :nuke:

WELL I GUESS THAT i WILL START WITH THE DASH SWITCH AND MOVE DOWN FROM THERE. I THINK IT IS MORE IN THE WIRING DOWN ON THE T-CASE THOUGH. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS A SYLLONOID THAT ACTUATES THE TCASE SHIFTER?
