I talked to the guy today at the local LineX place (just BS'ing and he said he'd shoot my nerfs for $25. I was thinking it would be nice to have the texture on the tops. Not to mention that this stuff has a lifetime warranty so if I screw it up they redo it for free. I was also thinking that with it on the bottom it would slide on rocks easier. Has anyone done this?

That stuff is plenty strong. But why would you want it on your nerf bars????????????????????
Kinda the wrong place for that. In the tub of a vehicle or the bed of a truck sure, but on your nerf bars. Why would you think it would make it slide better? That stuff would be peeled off every time you drug those bars. Ditch the nerfs and get real rocker protection.

LOL, I'm with slut... bad idea especially on the bottom. I don't care how good it is, it's going to be trail trash after the first rock. However I too am considering Herc on the top side of my bars but then again 3M no-slip tape is 40cents a foot at the hardware store. And that's most likely what I'll do. ;)

Hey-
DON'T DO IT :D
I tried it- didn't work fer crap- one trail tore it off the bottom, and sides, a major waste of money, cost me 50 buck-
spent 6 hours w/ a torch and scraper gettin' it off- it's tough, but not tougher than a rock
ended up w/ skateboard tape on the upper surfaces for no slip steps- that was cool till I slid out of the Toy with shorts on :rasta:
hamburger'd my calf but good too.

Bad idea. The rocks peel off the metal. What chance does that sprayed on rubber have.

Done this,, It is a great idea, looks great, super-non slip even when wet.
If he will shoot them at $25 go nads, when I had mine done, they said it would use as much Line-X as spraying my bed (which I had done Aslo) but it is because they only had one size nozzle, and there was alot of over spray. Only one thing, the sliders don't neccessarily slid over the rocks easier, it actually can take CHUNKS out of the bottom "COATING"
It is almost like the Line-X doesn't adhere to the steel so much as it coats and forms like a casing around the sliders.
I would strongly suggest you sand blast or scuff your sliders up REAL good before applying coating.

i dont see the point. its like people making SKID plates and stuff from diamond plate which is an ANTI SKID surface :shaking:
