: Chevy build, Ideas Kind of lost right now.
rockbender 01-22-2008, 11:52 AM I've had for about 3 years. Kind of lost with what I want to do with it. I was think Sand Toy decent travel But I love to play in the mud.
Heres the story I bought it started to build it bought mog axles for it started getting it ready atlas t case everything, Then BAM Divorce time So all plans changed.....
Atlas T case Gone, Trailready Beadlocks and New 39 inch boggers, Mog axles gone.
Now I've started to put her back together
400 Small block 600hp turbo 400
Dana 60 & 14 bolt axles DRW
Crossover steering
16.5 ti winch
Hummer wheels
np 205 from sm 465, + 32 spline input shaft + large bearing
9" front springs
Off road design rear shackle flip 4.5 + 4 inch spring
14" bilstein 9100 Coilovers (2)
This is what she started as.
rockbender 01-22-2008, 11:56 AM this it with lift shackle flip and crossover installed from original build with boggers.
rockbender 01-22-2008, 12:00 PM THis is it now. Had to modify hangers. The offroad design Flip kit I bought was the 4.5 drop well they neglected to inform me that it would also move my axle forward almost 2 inches with a 4 inch leaf spring. Si I took the support from a 3/4 ton that had a bigger drop hanger and moved my front hanger down about 3 inches si now my axle sits in the right spot.
Big91RustyBucket 01-22-2008, 12:16 PM Looks good.
aaronr10 01-22-2008, 12:35 PM So, what's the question? Ideas on what?
Are you going to do anything with the bed? Flatbed? Tube it?
BTW, I love your avatar. :smokin:
rockbender 01-22-2008, 01:00 PM Ideas on building the truck.
I was tossing a idea around. Opening the back of the cab adding a rear seat like a blazer just longer and 4 linking the front and long travel leafs in the back.
Use the bed and tube it.
aaronr10 01-22-2008, 01:22 PM Okay, I'll play. Lower it down some, trim fenders and go wheel it. Once the dents start to take over and you gain more experience on what you like to do and what you want the truck to be able to do, it will be a no brainer. It's all personal preference. If it were me. I'd lower it, trim it, lock it, double it, bob it, narrow the front, dove the rear and toob it (internal, not a fan of exo's on a foolsize). Ohh, and take some wheelbase out of it. But, you said you like mud........so all you need is a big motor.
rockbender 01-22-2008, 05:46 PM So you think I need more than 600hp then. That's what I have in it.
rockbender 01-22-2008, 05:49 PM aaron How about some pics of yours? How much lift is on your truck.
I have a set of 44" boggers on 15" beadlocks but I would still have to cut alot of sheetmetal to get them to fit now. Been doing searches on chevy's with 42" & 44's and only a few popped up.
bigred350 01-22-2008, 07:00 PM How about something like this...

Hey aaronr10, I really like your truck. You have incorporated some really good mods in my opinion. Can you post up a few more pics?? Sounds like rockbender could use some ideas, and Id love to see them too:smokin:

I would love to Badburn, but don't want to clogg up rockbender's thread with my junk. Plus, need to take some recent pics now that I'm done with the rear. Off to the Hammers tomorrow morning for some 4 day wheeling.
**NOTE: Any foolsize that wants to come play with me at the Hammers is more than welcome. Just look for me. I'll be with a fellow K5 and a bunch of Toyotas and a pretty cool EB.
Badburn, I'll PM you some pics when I get back.....On second thought, I took enough pics for a write up on the dove tail and bobbed rear, anyone interested???
