Ok.. this isnt for me.. just to clear that up
A friend of mine is currently running leaf springs in the back of his yj.. sooner or later wanting to go coil overs..
The question is.. he wants to use a three link.. to control axle wrap for now.. then incorporate coilovers when he gets the cash.
But the question brought up by someone else.. will the three link along with leaf springs stop axle movement?.. or will it let it work freely as normal..
I will be asking some of the guys up on carnage when they are waiting to come thru my course, but i just wanted to see if i can get a answer before
Thanks
James
It depends. I couldn't see a problem if was set up to match the roll axis of the leaf springs.

put a shackle at both ends of the springs and it'll work

He will have binding probs Unless ,,,he frees up the Leaf's using another shackle in front of the leafs . free movement for the links and allowing them to do there Job "Locate the Axle"
but if he just puts bar on the axle and no double shackle setup .Then he will have some serious Axle binding because the springs and the links will be fighting against each other
get it

Adam,
Not if the links are set up to match the roll axis of the springs. It is possible to set it up so that the links won't cause any binding. You must then ask yourself wether or not you want the same roll axis as the springs. I would suggest just adding the upper link or wishbone or what ever. That way wrap will be somewhat controlled and you can just add the lowers when you are ready to go big. Does this make sense? I have just dusted a few  's.

Ok you Idea Works in your Head " perfect situation " and not harping on you
the spring's do not move the exact way every time.
I know I have measured it many times
and I have tried it with bars and many diff traction bars 4 link 3 link . and it does not move freely put a shackle in there and you will get free movement. Untill that you will see if you welds or springs are stronger.
It is possible to set it up so that the links won't cause any binding
this is not possible in my opinion
again from what I have seen!

Adam,
Its cool Ant man. In theory it would work and believe it can be done. However, I have never tried it or have seen it done in person. I was just thrown down my .02.
