blysccr 01-22-2008, 06:12 PM i washed the rig today and discovered that my passenger rear shock mount has come off. what are some tips to welding it back on? what is the best way to weld it back on? if i don't get it taken care of immediately, will i still be ok doing some driving? thanks a lot guys Little Jeep 01-22-2008, 07:40 PM What Jeep? What axle? Is it a stock shock mount? I assume at axle end? Why did it come off? Any damage to mount? Any damage done to axle tube? rockrknockr 01-22-2008, 08:46 PM you can run without the shock no problem till you get it fixed. just take the shock off, see if the mount is re-usable(maybe a little bending to get it back to original shape), grind off the axle tube clean/smooth and weld it back on. jpfrk2001 01-22-2008, 09:34 PM what CAUSED it to break off?!! Need to find the answer for this one before you break it off again after you get it fixed. Im going to say probably a shock that is to long for the current set up. If bracket is in decent condition, just follow Rockrknockr's direction and you probably be fine. resqme 01-23-2008, 08:50 PM Stock TJ shock mounts and link mounts are cheesy thin.
