My buddy and I are seriously considering pulling the trigger on two trailers, and Longhorn seems to be the best "middle of the road" trailer... any complaints or reasons to go elsewhere? $6K for a 27 +5 with dual tandem Dexters...

how does it compare to the price of the Big Tex trailers? Lots of guys running those with great success...but I'd like to hear more on these.

they are good trailers and in some respect stoughter then a big tex. with a big tex, alot of what you pay for is the name. i think the big tex i looked at was 9500-10.5k$ before negotiations for a 27+5 gooseneck with tandem duallys ,ramps, dual jacks, and lockable boxes between the jack legs. maybe more, i would have to see if i can find the old quote. bottom line longhorn trailers are nice trailers, well built with great parts (dexter, bulldog, etc.) and reasonably priced. i drug the 32 footer around for a friend for a bit while he was moving and it towed straight as an arrow and was very well balanced.

Have you looked at the Carson line up Pete?
I don't know anything about them, but I do see alot of them around Simi.

yeah I have. I'm less than impressed with my carson, and their "heavy duty" trailers only use 14# I beam instead of 19#...

I love my protrak, and it was not much more than what you are quoting. Does that price include 12k axles w/ brakes on both?
