I have the opertunity to buy on of these engines Cheep I am looking to go Deisel in my cherokee. Is this engine a dog. It looks like it make as much power as my 2.5l does now. Fom what i could find googling it.

I daily drive one everyday and really enjoy it, but maybe I am sick that way. It isn't a power house like a Cummins or a Powerstroke. You can do a few power up grades, like straight pipe, air filter, swapping in a Mercedes turbo and using an elbow eliminators (Scoutco (http://www.scoutcoproducts.com/)makes a the only option right now), and they will make decent power. If geared correctly the will do 75 down the freeway with no problems. All in all I really like the little engine works very well on. I am not going to win any drag races, but I do get 20 MPG on the freeway and 15-18 running around town.

Pass on that engine and spend the cash on commumity college classes. Try taking a spelling class :flipoff2:
