Hey guys,
I am looking for some input and personal opinions.....
I am building an isuzu. I like the Rodeos and the Amigos. Those are the only two I like though.
Basic plans are going to be toyota sas front/ three linked, Isuzu 12 bolt rear with xj or dakota springs, toyota 4.7 case, 35/36" tires....
I lack any kind of experience with these trucks, but have built a few rigs over the years.
I am looking for opinions on what I want to do, what would you do and why.

Suggestion? Read everything here and on the Isuzu forum here at www.4x4Wire.com -- there are are a variety of ideas that have been executed with varying degrees of success... once you've got a background, ask some specific questions -- there really are hundreds of different ways to go building an Isuzu.
I've 'wheeled and parked an Amigo for years... I enjoy not seeing the same flavor of vehicle everywhere else. :D

Did some reading.... Good link:smokin:. Thank you.:grinpimp:
I think I have decided on an amigo as well. I have a lot more reading to do, but there is a new build coming soon... Stay tuned.
Input on this is still welcome.

Keep in mind that almost all of the frames/suspension are the same on Troopers as the Rodeos, Amigos and Trucks, for the most part. So with that don't limit yourself to just researching the Rodeos and Amigos. If you get a Rodeo with a disk brake dana44 I wouldn't go swapping in an Isuzu 12 bolt. But if your 'Migo or Rodeo has a 10 bolt in it then yes you need to upgrade.

I have a 91' Amigo that my parents bought new. I had it in high school and it was going to be my first project wheeler. Back in the day I was all over 4x4wire.com, and it looks like most of those people made it over to pirate. Anyways my plan of attack was Waggy 44's and 5.38's. Independant4x.com has almost everything you need. I wouldn't 3 link the front if your going to use it on the street. Cherokee springs are a little stiff, but wrangler leafs are everwhere (not very strong though), you could make a custom pack. I also live in Santa Cruz and have new 5.38's and an ARB for the Isuzu 12 Bolt, if your interested, and a spare axle if you need any parts.
Let me know if you need any help.

Right on guys, thank you for all the direction.
Progress... I found a 93 rodeo for sale, its clean and a good runner. I also found a couple of amigos both early 90's neither of them run. I am still reading, the more I read about these trucks the more they interest me... :D
Max, thanks a lot man, I might take you up on that. I am headed back out the moss landing to hit the yards, found a yota front axle for $100 and also a high pinion front third for $300....:grinpimp: Once I get my axle here I am going to really start looking to buy a vehicle.
