I'm 90% full of crap but I do like to look at the diesels for sale in my area just in case an incredible deal comes along. This is a '97 F250 7.3 powerstroke with 116k miles but it runs on WVO. He's asking $13k, which is about $5k over KBB.
I'm not really a Ford guy but the 7.3 is supposed to be a good motor and 116k shouldn't be worn out by any means. Running on WVO sounds really intriguing. I'd be able to run over to Rausch Creek, Harlan, Gray Rock, etc. and the cost of fuel would not factor into the equation. If you remove the cost of fuel, wheeling becomes almost free (+carnage).
So, does a WVO conversion really add that much to the value of an old powerstroke? How much would you pay for this truck?

Full WVO kits for Powerstrokes run about $1500 -- you could build your own for $500.
Keep shopping...

Just my opinion, but if you're gonna run WVO, the best choice is the 7.3 IDI. The electronic injectors in the powerjoke seem a bit fragile to me.

You might want to research how easy it is to obtain enough WVO to run a truck on before jumping in with both feet.
My dad had a couple of coworkers who converted a few older TDI Volkswagens and small tractors. They said that running on WVO was no big deal, but that it was really hard to get in the area we lived. Apparently a lot of the restaurants had contracts for the disposal of the oil and wouldn't give it away. The ones that would give it away were getting hit daily by all the people who were trying to burn it.
It may be easier to get in other parts of the country so you might be fine. My dad and I haven't even bothered looking at it again after hearing what a fiasco it turned out to be for his buddies that had done it.

Plus if he has run bad WVO in this truck, or has not had the system set up right, it could lead to problems for you after you buy it.

Way to much money.
If you want alternitive fuel just run on filtered used ATF. I know a couple of guys running in their power strokes (been running it for years) and it works great.

That is on of the most honest statements in the history of the PBB.
Add 10% and it would be truth :flipoff2:

Yeah, I could just see the look on the trooper's face when he dips your tank.
