Ok, I wanna know, what does most of you think is the right lift higth for a reg cab short bed, with 38-42" tires? 4", 6"? I wouldnt think more than that.. maybe 4" plus a 1" body lift? What do you think?

depends on what you are going to do....
alot of people will tell you 4" and hack the fenders....
other say 8" and trim the fenders...
I like a high truck ... mine has 14" leafs and 40" ground hawgs... but my hawgs are worn to 37".... I HAVE TONS OF ROOM!!!!
also if you want low center of gravity or if you dont care about gravity and wanna cross the ocean.... :smokin:
there is so much to decide....
Just remember that no matter what you choose as long as you like it everyone can go scratch!!!! :rasta:

yeah, i already hacked the front fenders to fit the 36's before.. now it has 35's. I was thinking low COG, so i can rockcrawl with it.. and when the body is destroyed, throw on a dodge d-50, s-10, toy, or what i was thinking, a willys pickup cab, clip, and flatbed... with a full exo cage built into the body.. yeah, i think that would be cool :flipoff2: . but i am just wondering.. at what point does it get too tippy? 8", 10", 14" right now it is 3" front, 4" rear.. and i want the truck at least level... plus i got super stiff springs up front.. any sugguestions?

Now thats what im talking about!

If you allready have the 4" put the tires on and if you cant or dont want to hack that much (doesnt sound like a problem though) go with the body lift.

and body lifts are not bad... I have had a 3" on my truck for 8 years and wheeled the hell out of it...no problem....
also I happen to have a 3" body lift that I can sell for a fullsize pickup???

well, the only reason why i want the body lift, isnt for tire clearence (i wouldnt mind cutting for 44" with no lift) but for clearence between the frame and body. also, i currently have a single 203.. but since i have access ot a machine shop, and another 203.. i decided i am gonna do a 203/203.. then add a 205.. shoudl give me enough gears. i also think that 38.5" sx;s are the tires i want.. i just put skyjacker springs on the rear.. i think i ma gonna move them under the frame.. but i think that the 4" spring is good.. 5" being max for me (i was running 3/0" lift springs before with 35"). But we;ll see how it does.

np203+203+205???
how would that work?
I read about people putting transfer cases together but how do you end up with more gears???

i take the first 203, and cut the shaft down and spline it to 23, to match the dodge 203 i have, and build an adapter.. then build another adapter, and cut the shaft on that 203 to match up with a 32 spline chevy case.. not really much to it.. plus, i can run higher axle gears.

ok.. I guess I wasnt specific.... I guess what I am asking is...
you have 3 shifter levers and if you have a stick.. you got 4 in a line.....
I thought if you are in 4low you are in 4low no matter how many transfer cases you have?????
and also.. If I put a 203+203+205 behind my smc465 I would have shift levers under the bench seat??????

ok... we are getting closer....
if you have 3 transfer cases... how would you get more gears?
if you put all in 4 high then that is it.. you cant put one in neutral so they would all have to go into the same????

so if you are at a traffic light.. and wanted to drive... what would you need to do to any transfer case? then shift out your gears then what do you do to the next transfer case?? do you go from high on one to low on the other??/
I just dont understand....

basically is is just the 2 range boxes of the 203, then the 205. The 203's have either High, or low range (maybe nutral, not too sure), and the 205 has 2wd high, 4wd high, nutral, and 4wd low. so basically uou have all transfer boxes in high, and it is the same as if none are there and you have a 2wd truck.. Put all 3 in low (or whatever combo of the 3 you want) and you have a 7.84:1 low range in the transfer case.
