: National Rally registration
onsafari 07-03-2002, 07:28 AM Hey guys I was wondering how many, if any of you have registered for this years Rally? I was looking at the latest updated list of registrants and we are about 1/3 full. If you have not done so allready you may want to register as soon as possible as we are limiting the number of vehicles (not participants) this year. If you have any questions I would be glad to answer them for you.
Thanks
Mark :)
RockRover 07-03-2002, 08:16 AM Do you have on-ling registration this year? If so what's the addy? If not, how do I register?

We don't have a on-line registration. What you need to do is download the registration form and waiver form from the website www.solihullsociety.org and fill those out and send them in with the fee. Once we recieve the forms we will send you a confirmation packet back with all the nessary info you will need.

Well who even said you were invited? :flipoff2:
Mark could you tell us who the trail leaders are for the different trails?

That info is cosidered classified at this time. I can however tell you that I will be leading Lower Hell/Strike Ravine on the Thurs, Poison Spider/Golden Spike on Fri and Metal Masher on Sat. Seriously though, I could tell who is leading what but I don't have the complete list of who is leading what and when. I can assure you that the leaders are well qualified and have complete knowledge of there specific trail they will be leading. All the leaders are local CO. members of the Solihull Society and the Rover Riders clubs.
I am leading Behind the Rocks, Poison Spider and Metal Masher. We are not really doing extremely difficult trails because we do not know everyones experience level. In the past people claim they are very experienced only to find out later they have only driven the Land Rover Test track.
I suspect that a few people will be willing to do something either a day before the rally or the Sunda after the Rally that is a little more difficult. I would love to run Lower Helldorado again. I wouldn't mind watching someone run upper, I'll stand by and drink . And pull winch lines as necessary of course. My Rangie probably can't run upper yet, or at least the wife won't let me!

Sniff..Sniff...Nobody loves me...I'll just have to run UPG and UH by myself then...Sniff
FrankenRover 07-03-2002, 01:32 PM I will be right there with you brutha. Not to worry. And with no rear cage to grind and a longer wheelbase (woohoo), I am really looking forward to UH.
It is pretty fun ordering all the parts for the truck, when they were all paid for by selling stuff from the previous incarnation.

Oh no I don't think the three of you will be allowed to run together, ya sound like trouble (like I know anything about you guys) :D Anywho we will see what we can do with special request ( a bribe doesn't hurt )
Serious One 07-03-2002, 04:12 PM Guess I'd better get my lazy ass in gear and register then eh Billstah? :flipoff2:
I was in a SERIOUS off-road shop today and was looking at some rock buggies they are building. Totally Marbourg-esque, and way sweet. D60's and King coil-overs rolling around like they were out of style!
I'm heading to the ARCA event in Cedar City next weekend. If anyone wants to fly into SLC and head down with me I'm probably just going to camp and will leave early Fri. morning and come home late Sun. night.
I was also looking at some pics of Proving Grounds and must admit that there is one section that is pretty intimidating. LH and UH are definitely on my plans, but Proving Grounds? Maybe it's time to pony up for those 38's and do some fendah trimmin'!:flipoff2:
I promise I'll register this week. PROMISE! :flipoff2:
