I have a 79 Cherokee with a amc 360 w/th400. I bought a 727 with a dana 20 out of a scout that I plan to swap into my Cherokee. My question is, can I use either of the torque converters I have or do I need to purchase one? The 727 was behind a amc 258.

First off- wrong forum, but close. This one is for the small cherokees and comanches. You want the full size jeep forum.

Anyway, the TH400 converter won't work as they use a 3-bolt converter and it won't spline into the 727. The 258 converter might fit but the stall speed is going to be way wrong for the higher torque of the 360. It'll probably flash about 1000 rpm higher.
