steves1014 01-27-2008, 04:38 PM cool pics, if i am not mistaken that is collateral dammage.
handlebar 01-27-2008, 05:14 PM Great pics, great time and a lot of fun for all. Thanks for not getting pics of the top of Anacanda ! Larry and Chad were a hoot to wheel with and spend quality time around the fire. Ben and companion were also a lot of fun, as were you and your super-model better half. Is there anything better than wheeling in great weather on 5 rated trails with good people ? I dont think so. Lets do it again....soon. Sam You are correct , we spent a couple of hours going up Collateral Damage.
Jeep07 01-27-2008, 06:04 PM Thanks for those pics. Have any more or any video from the ride? I'm getting cabin fever here in TN and have to live vicariously through others right now...
benttoy 01-27-2008, 07:29 PM That looks like fun. Sam you going to drag the other Az. F-TOYs to the Werock in April? Theres also the Prorock in March at the buttes
handlebar 01-27-2008, 07:59 PM The great state of AZ will be present at every comp. possible, we now have 4 rides that are ready to kick some buttttt Sam
Propane 01-27-2008, 08:22 PM Looked like fun. Yesterday was perfect for wheeling, sadly I did not.

Almost!
Looks like I missed a good trip. :(
My junk is getting close to being trail worthy again. Over the weekend I got my T-case almost finished but every time I look at it I find something else broken. It's together, and back in the rig, but I need to order an output flange tomorrow. The one I had got demolished when the rear output shaft let go. Looks like I need to rebuild my rear CV too. Got the rear 3rd almost built today, but I need some different pinion spacers to finish it up. With any luck the front third will be built up this week too. I'm hoping to get it out for a drive by this Sunday afternoon. Now with a Bobby Long rear output shaft, ARB's front and rear and a Trail Gear 5:29 ring and pinion in the rear third.
You guy's interested in doing a day run in Florence Saturday Feb 9th? I'm sick of wrenching!
Skii4x$ 01-27-2008, 10:26 PM It was a good run. I have a bunch more pics that I will post up when I get a chance. This is the first time that I put the vehicle on its side. I was able to just drive right out of it.
How FTOY friendly is the AZ +5 trails? I've seen Arizonarockcrawler's DVD's and definetly want to head down there and have some fun. Just don't want to be a trail tampon.
We should set up an Ftoy wheeling get together down there :)
handlebar 01-28-2008, 06:03 AM Heck yea, this is a really tight year but we can always call in sick. The only way to do it is to pencil in a date, then we will change it over and over till we all agree. pickone. Tim-Pat....I will check on the 2.9 date at this time we are open, sounds like fun.
Skii4x$ 01-28-2008, 08:51 AM I am out of town 2/9. I would be better to wheel in March. If we could really find a leader there are trails that are supposed to be pretty crazy. Just check out the mlk 2008 thread in general discussion. A flop is more then expected on those trails.

yes I have some good video but unfortunately I didn't explain how my camera works to the photographer in the video mode. The video is sideways on my run. I have a video of kevin finishing that obstacle. I'll u/l and share the link

March is to soon for me to get down there. I'll probably have to wait till next winter/spring wheeling season with all the miles i have to log this year for Werock.
Maybe we can all meet up at the hammers the week after the first comp for some fun wheeling before the tinbender cleanup.

Skii4x$ 01-28-2008, 04:47 PM Boy my engine is really loud in that vid. I should take a look at it. Hey Sam would you like to help me fix it all by myself :jester:

Skii4x$ 01-28-2008, 07:51 PM I am going to the phoenix open on Saturday so I cant go wheelin. I will be drinking heavily starting at about 9am. A full day of free drinking and eating. I cant pass that up.

m016324 02-03-2008, 01:28 PM well Sam and I went out again this weekend. We only made it about half way up Terminator before I blew a birf. Still some awesome scenery and Sam has the paitence of a saint dealing with my break. Here are some pictures.

benttoy 02-03-2008, 02:08 PM No wonder Sams car is always so clean He parks it in a lake
handlebar 02-04-2008, 06:25 PM Mike, we dont get much water in AZ. so I was peeing my thong on that crossing. Water added a whole new hazard to some usual trails. And for the record, I winched Ben into a rollo, all was well after getting him righted but I still feel bad for trying to help. Im ready for a comp!!!!!
Jeep07 02-04-2008, 08:54 PM I'm assuming your running stock birfs and axles in the front since your poping them?
Albuquerque Jim 02-04-2008, 10:46 PM Looks like it decided to roll-over right before the Z turn...:D
This was in November 07 (not me) I took the pic though...

Do you guys run the "white line"?
Yeah, that trail does look different with water.
I can't wait to have my rig ready for that area!
m016324 02-05-2008, 06:57 AM I'm assuming your running stock birfs and axles in the front since your poping them?
Nope 30 spline longs.
-ben
handlebar 02-06-2008, 05:39 PM Where Ben broke was a very narrow wedge and and he wasnt really on it. Just planted the passenger front and bound it up, the Longfield gave it up. This trail is tough in dry conditions, running water makes it a 5++.
benttoy 02-06-2008, 07:36 PM The car that Ben has is that Todd C,s old car? I think it,s #5
Azrckcrawler 02-07-2008, 08:16 AM How FTOY friendly is the AZ +5 trails? I've seen Arizonarockcrawler's DVD's and definetly want to head down there and have some fun. Just don't want to be a trail tampon.

The buggy trails start at 6 and go up from there :grinpimp: If you do make the trip I'd plan on wheeling at TM first. If you can do all those trails (including Matrix) in a day then the MLK stuff will be enjoyable as opposed to tedious. A linked rear end will also be a big help. Once you get above the 5 rated trails you are dealing with a lot of verticals, so if your rig doesn't do those well it really takes the fun out of the trail and you may end up winching every obstacle.

Yes it is his old buggy. Still doing somethings but all and all it's worked great for me.

Cool! when he ran the prorock a few years the car had the cryoed birfs and was breaking a lot of them

You BTG guys are set up with much heavier parts than an FToy but I believe some of you started as Toyoya guys, I would really like to do some trails with you. If I cant keep up, thats okay with me. You guys rule TM and I just want to learn more trails. Thanks for the oppertunity to ride along, I will do my best to not be a trail Tampon. Sam

We all had Toyota running gear at some point so it's all good :smokin: Have you run Matrix yet? That trail is really a good yardstick, if you can drive every obstacle on that trail and make it out in around an hour then your rig is setup good for the next level. Right now we are trying to get stuff sorted out for the KOH deal but after that drop me a line and we'll go do some wheeling.....
Skii4x$ 02-08-2008, 08:12 AM I dont know where Matrix is. I would have to be shown it. I would love to do it and learn more trails but I understand that not everybody should know where trails are. I only know the where the more common trails are.
handlebar 02-08-2008, 04:58 PM X2, even the usual trails are pretty tuff, But I would like to try the harder ones, we have driven the usual trails with running water and done well. Lets go wheeling. Sam
