There was a write up somewhere on a mod someone did to their qjet with a tube with holes drilled into it that went from the front of the carb to the back at the vents or something I'm not sure what. Anyway it's the same thing that the demon carb has. Supposed to help the carb handle angles better. I've been searching for (literally) months and still can't find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about/has the link/has done it/ etc etc?

I didn't read it all, but this thread has some info. I remember reading that some guys put a tube from the front vent to the rear vent with a "T" in the middle.

Must have been for a Holley, like the truck avenger has. Fuel will leak from the secondary needles long before the vent tube.

Read that one already...I seriously considering propane at this point since its simpler than a carb and handles offroad even better than FI. Availbilty isnt a problem where I am so the only drawback for me is range and if I'm not in town

Qjets do not have 2 float chambers, just one in the front. I can look at a book I have in the garage for off road mods for the Qjet if you want. The book is old.....but so are the carbs!

If you want a good book on Q-jets, pick up 'ROCHESTER CARBURETORS', Doug Roe, HP books, 1981. they have it at Barnes and Noble. It has a good section on off road mods, and although its more geared towards off road racing, the various principles of fuel control are the same. Shows various vent mods, which floats, rods, etc are best and other mods, as well as lots of general tuning and rebuilding info.

Thats the one! If you need anything specific I can possibly scan it and e-mail it to ya instead of taking up room on the board.

Hmm maybe i should pick that one up. But if it has anything specific about getting it to perform better with angles (mostly side to side) I'd appreciate it a lot if you could send them to me. :D

Let me dig the book out tomorrow and I'll see what I can find.
