fj40tom 07-03-2002, 09:41 AM My truck is on jack stands and the madness has started. I am going to SO my 40 with fj60 axles. I have searched the archives, but I still wouldn't mine digging up a pic of the front short side spring perch. I don't want to outboard the springs. Thanks for the help.

Eskimo 07-03-2002, 10:23 AM i think he was referring to where the spring meets the axle..:p
texican 07-03-2002, 10:27 AM DUH!!! Oh well, he mentioned when he was up here earlier in the week wanting a picture of my front spring hangar....here it is anyway.
BTW guys he is putting 60 axles under a 40 I don't have an F'n clue how he's gonna do the short side perch and keep the spring perchs even with the frame.

BJ On Roids 07-03-2002, 05:45 PM okay can someone shrink the pics down for me, im running the 60 axles and i sent jasonM the pics, but they were like 1 meg each and i have no way to shrink them down :(
but if you want copies he can send them out, i also sent him the doghouse ones, which is similar to what i did, although ive never seen the finished product, so it was sorta made up!!

crawlin cruiser 07-03-2002, 07:38 PM Im running this set-up aswell. Evrything was great until I decided to remove my front 3rd and swap in a locker. I guess I welded my studs on AFTER the 3rd was in cus when I tried to take it out there wasnt enough clearence to pull the 3rd. So im trying to come up with a new solution cus im only runnin 3 bolts in the front short side:eek:

Ha!
I thought that was funny. That's Dave "beanz2" and Rob lying under Dave's 40, looking at something or other.
Dave's got a home-brew full-floater conversion, custom axle shafts and aisin locking hubs on the rear. Toyota cable lockers too, nice 40.
Morgan
Isnt that a full floater with custom axles and a set of freewheeling hubs?
BJ On Roids 07-03-2002, 08:55 PM why would you want selectable axles on the rear?
unless it was just for the full float conversion?
looks as though he might not have too good an eye with his saw either, he's left a big dag hanging down to rip his tread off
that looks due for some grinder loving
Why selectable rear?
I have thought of seting this up on the rear of my pickup so if a third gets blown it is easy to disconect and just keep driving on the front and its also good for flat towing.
BJ On Roids 07-03-2002, 11:25 PM how often do you brake a rear third? yeah thought so!
and as for flat towing, just get it trailered!!
(i was gunna say get a cruiser and dont need to get towed) but i remembered the little effort on sunday :flipoff2:

5  that's pushing, it, well two times on rocks, plus 3 lawn jobs, sorta equals five, but on this one time i saw a rocky driveway........ :flipoff2: :D
out of curiosity have you broke a rear third since your wrap bar installation?, how/why did they break? couldnt be all that horsepower could it? ;) all 4 cylinders:skull: maybe it was those MASSIVE bald 34s :emb: :flipoff2:
but seriosuly why have they broken?
when mine broke, it was cause i was being stupid and had no wrap bar in
