1...my 460 starts fine & idles fine...But when I give it some gas it pops thru the carb badly...what could be causing this???...Iv replaced everything plugs,wires,cap,rotor all the same thing...Timming is right on...Could the dizzy be 180 off or off some??I changed from a points to non point dizzy..

usually through the intake means its really retarded. rebuilding a 4 bbl is pretty easy should take an hour or two.

Sound like to me your accellerator pump is shot and/or squirters are clogged. This is when the engine is warmed up to operating temps and not cold? If it is doing this on a cold engine, I would check the choke mechanism out. Good luck.

sounds like you could have a flat cam lobe.

does it pop under load going down the road?


does it pop right when you jump on the throttle and clear up once it gets up to speed?


does it pop if you slowly open the throttle?


does it pop when you rev it with no load?

I got it 99% solved...I had all of the Plug wires 1 off counter clock wise on the cap....

Was still doing it just a little swapd differant carbs on it & its pretty much solved now...


I still get alittle pop now & then...This is with the truck in park...I havent been able to drive it yet...
