ford 5.0

Got a reader and it gives no codes but I know it should. Maybe missing a wire that goes to the reader connector or something??

The self test on the reader seems to work but no codes and the book doesn't say what to do with no codes, POS!

I'v had my code reader do this to me also. I don't have a answer for you but if you figure it out let us(me) know. When this hapens a good shop quality reader seems to work fine. It doesnt make sence cause it works fine on most rigs just a few it won't.

Silly question sucka, but do you even have a "check engine" light on???

If not, turn your ignition on and notice if you even get the pre check light to flash.

no codes at all... even when you just turn the key to the run position? no power... probably a popped ECM fuse, or a bad/loose/no ground situation. When you get that figured out, you may need to replce the chips and/or puter.
