what diameter is the hole for the Kingpin spring?
Help me out here!!!! Otherwise, I'll have an ugly ass green jeep in my garage forever.
I'll measure when I get home... about 40 mins

I would guess it's 1.75"...I know that doesn't help, but why don't you just measure the top of the knuckle? Just make sure the spring and bushing clear.

Thats the problem. I dont have the axel, knuckle, arm, spring anything. All I have is the blank stock, I'm making the new arms out of.
MO. Thanks you'll save me a bunch of driving!

The spring is 1 7/8" in diameter and the hole in the cover plate gasket is 2.25". anywhere in the middle should be fine.
TIP... I used the plug I drilled out of the 1" thick plate as a spacer on top of the spring...I drilled 2" hole... and you should probably use new springs and plastic seats in the uppers when you build.
you might need to add a washer or more to get the proper spring tension on the spring.
oh yea......the pilot hole you drill in the plug will allow grease to get into the lower portion of the joint
ID of the steering arm opening for the spring is 2.25"
sorry I'm so late, but my wife still isn't home from work and I just had my first chance to get to the garage.

Thanks 1BDYJ & MO
No can do on the spacer. I drilled it with a regular 2" drill bit. But thanks for the info!
Scott, I have my cat watching my jeep. You best beware!!
Trust me his junk won't be there long. Even with the garage door closed, my neighbors are complaining about the way it looks.
