I was driving my YJ on the freeway and I notic ed that my engine temp was all the way to the top. I pull over and there is all this steam comming from the engine. I open it up and my oil cap is gone (no idea how that happened). And there is coolant everywhere. :mad3: Ia m thinking that the waterpump blew up because the engine had lost oil. but I don't know for sure. It might be that I blew a seam on the radiator but also I am not sure. Any other ideas on what might have happened?

blown headgasket? Is there oil in the coolant? Coolant in the oil? Can you tell where it is actually leaking from?

I am pretty sure it is not a blown headgasget. But I need to take a closer look. I just got a new oil cap. So I am going to put oil back in it fill the radiator with water and take a look at where it is leaking from.

upon closer inspection it appears to be the water pump. What a pain in the ass. On the fucking freeway and it blows up. I just love being towed home.

 Most of us do too, I liked your sarcasm.
It would have been better if it happened when you where wheeling. The nerve of that thing!

Don't get O'Smilley's water pump. I have :nuke: three of them in 6 months.

And hey, it's not that much of a PITA to change, especially if you are cool enough to own a 4popper. :flipoff2:
