well,,,i bit the bullet and started on my solid axle conversion on my Z71 today.i had already installed my front spring hangers a few weeks back. i started on the drivers side,,,taking the IFS junk off. after that i installed my rear spring hanger and put in the leafspring pack. then i took off the IFS stuff on the pass. side. thats about as far as i got in the 3 hours i worked on it. i guess tommrow i will go rent a 90 degree drill so i can put on the rear hanger on the pass. side. the exahaust is in the way and i dont feel like taking the exhaust off so i will rent a 90 degree drill. i hope that my steering knuckle will be drilled and tapped tommrow. if not it will have to stay on the jackstands. heres a pic of it now. i think it will look good with 39.5 boggers instead of the little 33s it has now<IMG width=458 height=296 SRC="http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/uploads/before Z71.jpg">

to anwser both questions, its a 95 and i had put a 3 in lift on it last year.
youre gonna upgrade the rear axle too right?? i hope so with those tires...unless its a sf 14 blt(which might live for a bit), but i didnt think those came in z71's?? have fun with the project...brad
