: Poly LCA bushings

Anyone using poly bushings in their long arms? The frame end of my rear upper RE LCAs tear apart after a couple runs. I'm wondering if poly would make them last longer, or if they'd just bind up the suspension. If using them, what part number did you get?

I am not using the poly bushings so I can't answer that one. But I am in the same boat as you are.

Any reason why you couldn't swap out the bushings for the cartridge joints? I did it on my short arms without any problems and was thinking about doing it to the long arms. Some people have talked about bind issues. I guess I don't understand. :D

I'm worried about it binding too. And I think for a daily driver there should be some cushion to all the mounts. I think rubber is too soft though......

I also do not have long arms but have the same trouble with my after market XJ lower control arms!!

I agree haveing rubber links in the arms are great fro aroundt town they absorb impact. This is my plan, keep rubber at the axle end, those seame to last fine any ways, then cut the bushing end off my LCA.

Purchase the:
PP-TA16LH or PP-TA16RH (left right handed threads) Weld in tube inscerts
from polyperformance.com $14each

Then buy the 1.25in-12 treaded spherical bearing with 43,541 lbs strength. parts PP-MB16T or PP-MM16T (left or right handed) and will accept a 1in diamater bolt through your control arm bracket.

I would also buy the 30 degree miss-alignment spacers for $13.50 each. This should bring your spherical bearing to a 2.5in width.

These spherical bearings may be over kill in strength, the PP-MB12T PP-MM12T bearings are rated at 11,518 lbs and are $22

Do you guys kown how strong a joint we would need?
Im all into derating so for my projec tI only need to spherical joints so its only $40 more for the added strength of a beastly joint.
