Can I just simply reverse the long and short ends of a stock 40 rear spring for more wheelbase? All I have is 2.5 inch springs. I wasn't sure about wheelwell clearance. Thanks.

I just did this for a friend. Plan on getting out the sawsall and extending the rear wheelwell. :jeep2:

You will definetly have to extend the rear wheelwells if you flip your springs. You should also flip the military wrap on the second leaf back to the frame end of the spring. If you dont you could have bad spring wrap problems.

If you do a search im sure you will find more info than you could ever need.

Your going to have to cut some rear panel but not much. I used stock TJ flares and they work almost perfectly. Make sure you only cut behind the wheelwell and not the front...:D

I didn't reverse the military wrap like 71_cruiser said. Your going to have axlewrap if you have a SOA, but it sounds like you don't, so you should have a traction bar.
Haven't really gone out and wheeled mine since we've been working on the seats and other misc. things so I could't tell you about if mine has any mad springwrap since I didn't reverse the military wrap...springs sagging anyway so who cares if they break :flipoff2:
